About Janice King
Janice is a Registered Nurse and Certified Care Manager (NACCM), and is a member of the Aging Life Care Association (formerly the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers). She has been involved in senior care since 1990, when she and her family relocated to the Bay area from Lake Tahoe, California. She is a strong supporter of senior rights, advocating tireless for clients and their loved ones to have the ability to make choices about their care.
As a nurse, Janice’s main goal is to work alongside her clients and their families or responsible parties to form a client-centered plan of care that reflects their ever-changing needs. This includes oversight of in-home care personnel, as well as training, if needed, to maintain the safety and dignity of each client, while respecting their right to individual care needs at all times.
Janice assists families who are overwhelmed by providing support and structure for their loved ones. She attends physician appointments, and sets up outside resources to assist her clients in maintaining independence or reaching desired goals. In addition, she provides medication review and management, if needed, while maintaining direct consultation with the client’s physician. Janice then prepares easy-to-follow reports for her clients and their family and caregivers for continuity and clarity of care. All of this is done to aid in ensuring her client’s safety when they are home or within their chosen environment.

For those of you who work with the senior community or their families, this is a touching video that helps explain our passion for the work we do.
Janice is one of the kindest, most patient nurses I have met. She has a special gift for blending into the family to make us all feel comfortable. Thank you for all you do!MS
It’s been a little crazy for me dealing with the loss of my Mom that I have not called you to tell you how much help you were for me. You were strength and knowledge for me that helped me set up better care for my Mom than I could have ever done. Thank you for all you did to help me, but mostly for all your help that helped Mom.Steve
Janice, I want you to know how much I value all that you bring to my Mom’s life. I truly believe your professionalism brings security and much more to us all. Please accept my most sincere thanks!Sibil Jr.
Thank you for all your guidance, expertise, and compassion you gave to dad and I.
With much appreciation,Cathy
Thank you for the care of Harriet. I can’t tell you how it feels to be able to “start breathing” again. The Depakote seems to soften the severity of her emotional outbursts. Though she still cries and feels scared, it is not as pronounced as it was. I have never in my life met this person! (hope that makes sense)
Janice, thank you for the loving care you gave my mom, and for showing me how to care for her.
You’re a precious individual and have blessed my mother and ourselves with all you have done,
With great thanks and love,Edwina and Jan
Thank you so much you have done to help me and my grandma. You have gone above and beyond to make this move possible for her. I will never forget the kindness you’ve shown us. I hope you enjoy your time in Panama City.
Thank you for all your guidance, expertise and compassion you gave to dad and I.
With much appreciation,Cathy
Janice has been a godsend to our family! Cheerful, resourceful, efficient, and always kind, she has won our mother over. Our mom has Alzheimer’s and is still high functioning, but she has always been reluctant to have strangers in her house. Janice found commonalities with her right away, and has always treated her with fondness and respect, seeing her for who she is rather than simply as a client. Janice has been able to appeal to our mom’s willingness and get her to do things we can’t get her to do. Our mom doesn’t always remember her name, but she lights up when Janice comes to visit, and we treasure their relationship. It’s a huge help to my sibling who is our mother’s primary caregiver to be able to rely on Janice for hands-on support on issues big and small, and her extensive knowledge of elder care has provided valuable perspective for our whole family. For the siblings that live out of state, Janice is a reliable source of information and very accessible. We highly recommend Janice to any family that is caring for their elderly parents!Margie
